According Vanguard News, Hoodlums have allegedly chopped off the hand of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) official on duty in Igbo-Etche community, Etche Local Government Area, Rivers State in the ongoing supplementary legislative election today, Saturday.
Another official who was also on duty with the victim has also been reportedly taken hostage by the thugs and has not been rescued.
Though, there is heavy presence of security personnel in Etche but all officials currently on duty are said to be seriously wallowing in fear now due to series of abduction attempts of policemen on duty and INEC officials.
The victim whose hand was chopped off has been taken to INEC headquarters in Port Harcourt for treatment.
